Amphibiosity XIV
A happy 249th
Today is the 249th birthday of the United States Marine Corps. The Commandant’s birthday message is available here. We here at Expeditionary Advanced Base Friedman usually have a get together with friends and family but this year softball season and school have consumed all available free time. I hope everyone else is observing the birthday with an appropriate but responsible level of debauchery and left whiskey and Copenhagen out by the chimney for Chesty Puller.
This past week, the Naval War College released a new report on Chinese Amphibious Warfare. It’s over 500 pages long, so I haven’t read it yet but I’m looking forward to digging in.
Japan also launched a new LCU to expand their littoral maneuver and logistics capabilities.
Semper fi and happy birthday Marines!
